TMI Health Center

The Health Center at TMI recognizes that for students to carry out TMI's mission, they must be healthy not only in body but mind and spirit. Our mission in the Health Center is to help guide and educate the TMI community to a healthier lifestyle by prevention and early recognition of any health concerns.
The Health Center works to improve each student’s health by providing the following:

  • Administration of first aid, treating minor medical problems, e.g. cuts and bruises
  • Counseling and referral for social, emotional and physical problems
  • Monitoring communicable disease to control their spread
  • Working with the Department of Health to provide screening services
  • Education
Below is some information that will help us work together to provide the best possible care for your child:

List of 4 items.

  • Immunizations

    • TMI follows the Texas state requirements for vaccinations. For more information, refer to:http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/immunize/default.shtm.
    • Your child’s completed immunization records or exemption papers must be turned in prior to the first day of school. If you are a returning student you do not need to resubmit these unless they need to be updated.
  • Medications

    • The TMI Health Center does not provide any medication to our day students unless it is brought in by the parents in the original bottle. This includes over-the-counter or prescription medication.
    • All medication must be dropped off and picked up by a parent.
    • Please see the TMI Parent-Student Handbook, available from the Student/Parent section of www.tmi-sa.org, for more information regarding medication.
  • Illnesses and injuries

    • We encourage our students to come to the Health Center on the lower level of Frost Athletic Center for any urgent needs at any time. If it is a non-urgent need, we encourage students to come before school, during break, lunch or after school.
    • If your child has had a fever of 100.4° F or greater, please keep them home for 24 hours after the fever is gone.
  • Residential Life Heath

All staff are CPR/AED and first aid certified! Thank you to our administrators for their support on this important issue to keep all our TMI community safe.

TMI's health center uses Magnus Health as our student electronic health record system. Your child’s health record can be updated, completed and viewed through www.magnushealth.com.
