Summer At TMI is looking for enthusiastic, attentive Day Camp counselors, lifeguards, camp office manager, and program specialists to lead, support, and motivate campers as they enjoy all that the camp has to offer. Working with Summer At TMI is one of the most rewarding, challenging, and enjoyable ways to spend your summer.   • Panther Day Camp Assistant Director

    Purpose: To assist in leading daily operations of the Panther Day Camp Program, with assistance from the Panther Day Camp Summer Program Director
    Accountability: Assistant Summer Program Director is responsible to the Panther Day Camp Summer Program Director.
    Responsibilities:
    ● Assist in planning and coordinating the Panther Day Camp, along with the Panther Day Camp Summer Program Director.
    ● Create weekly schedules with assistance from Panther Day Camp Summer Program Director.
    ● Assist in leading Staff meetings
    ● Assists in Operating the Flow of Camp
    ● Expectations of involvement with your group each week:
    o Assist in Leadership and guidance of Panther Camp Counselors and the assigned Giveback Counselors
    o Help resolve camper issues as they arise
    o Supervise and assist campers and staff in clean up each day
    o Be with counselors and campers at all times (unless on a break)
    o Keep campus clean throughout the week. Set an example by picking up trash when you see it.
    ● Interact with children, parents/guardians and co-workers in a professional manner at all
    times.
    ● Participate in the life of camp; assist where needed and directed by those in charge.
    ● Assist in as needed communication with campers’ parents and families
    ● With assistance lead the check in and check out process/ set up and take down
    ● Interpret and enforce safety and health regulations in the camp. Implement rules and policies
    for campers and staff
    ● Assist the Panther Day Camp Summer Program Director in program observations and
    evaluations
    ● Other duties as needed, delegated by the Director of the Auxiliary Program.
    ● Help plan and lead Staff Development (SD1): Week of May 28- June 6, 2025
    This is a paid hourly full summer position. Employment dates: May 28-July 25, 2025 (possibly to come in a week or two earlier/ part time) The expectation is to be available to work 7:45am-5pm/Monday–Friday each week. Discounted fees may be available if enrolling your own children in summer camp.
  • Panther Day Camp Counselor

    Purpose: The Summer Counselor is in charge, along with an Assistant Volunteer Counselors and a Program Specialist, of a group with up to 8-16 campers in our Panther Day Camp Program. This person is to act as a role model, guardian, and primary guide for them during the day and week.
    Accountability: Summer Counselors are accountable to the Summer Program Director
    Responsibilities:
    ● Expectations of involvement with your group each week:
    o Work closely with Assistant Volunteer Counselor and any Program
    Specialist; maintain a healthy spirit of communication and cooperation.
    o Leadership and guidance of 8-16 campers aged 5-12
    o Implement rules and policies for campers and Assistant Volunteer Counselor
    o Supervise and assist campers in clean up
    o Be with campers at all times
    o Know where your campers are at all times
    o Keep campus clean throughout the week. Set an example by picking up trash when you see it.
    o Leadership and guidance of the Panther PM campers when assigned
    o You are responsible for your groups’ participation in the activities of camp.
    o Attend staff meeting as assigned
    ● Interact with children, parents/guardians and co-workers in a professional manner at all times.
    ● Enthusiastically participate and encourage participation in theme week programs.
    ● Assist with daily check in and check out of campers
    ● Participate in a 7-day Summer Counselor Development: Week of May 28- June 6, 2025.
    ● Participate in the life of camp; assist where needed and directed by those in charge.
    ● Other duties as needed
    This is a paid hourly full summer position.
    Employment dates are May 28-July 25, 2025. The expectation is to be available to work 7:45am-5pm/Monday–Friday each week (up to 40 hours a week)
  • Specialty Camp Program Director

    Purpose: To lead daily operations of all Specialty Camp Programs, with assistance from the Director of the Auxiliary Program. Specialty camps are defined as all TMI run summer programs that are not Panther Day Camp. (Athletic Camps, Innovation and Design Camps, Art Camps, Marksmanship, etc.)
    Accountability: Summer Program Director is responsible to the Director of the Auxiliary Program.
    Responsibilities:
    ● Plan and coordinate the Specialty Camps, along with the Director of the Auxiliary Program
    ● Create weekly schedules with assistance from Director of the Auxiliary Program
    ● Leads Staff meetings when needed
    ● Operates Flow of Camp
    ● Expectations of involvement with your group each week:
    o Leadership and guidance of Specialty Camp Leaders and the assigned Giveback Counselors
    o Help resolve camper issues as they arise
    o Supervise and assist campers and staff in clean up each day

  • Summer Health Director

    Purpose: Manages the camp health and safety program, provides medical treatment to campers and staff when necessary, administers medication to campers, complies with all required documentation, and acts as a health educator for campers and staff.
    Accountability: the Health Care Director is accountable to the Director of Auxiliary Programs.
    Responsibilities:
    ● Oversee the preseason set-up and the postseason closing of the Health Center area, which
    includes performing an opening/closing inventory of all supplies and equipment and
    ordering supplies/equipment as needed and approved.
    ● Assess and assist with the health and hygiene needs of campers.
    ● Administer medication and treatment to campers throughout their stay at camp.
    ● Identify pertinent camper medical needs (caution sheets, special diets, etc.) and
    ensures that this information is communicated with the appropriate staff.
    ● Provide for proper nursing intervention regarding camper and/or staff illness, condition, or
    emergency care and makes appropriate referrals and provides for follow up care as
    warranted.
    ● Administer immediate first aid to injured parties, performs nursing assessments,
    implements nursing intervention as guided by nursing judgment.
    ● Keep records regarding administration of medication, prescribed treatments, and other
    health and medical needs. Follow state and ACA standards in maintaining such records.
    ● Familiar with the health protocols and standing orders approved by a designated physician,
    and follows protocols with campers and staff.
    ● Make rounds throughout the camp checking on campers, staff and the health and safety of
    the camp in general. Report facility and grounds health risk factors.
    ● Complete and follow up on incident reports.
    ● Perform other duties as assigned.
    ● Available employment dates are June 9-July 25, 2025. Very flexible on dates.
    ● Discounted fees may be available if enrolling your own children in summer camp.
  • Summer Lifeguard

    Reports to: Auxiliary Program Director and Panther Day Camp Program Director
    Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: Lifeguard is responsible for the safety and security of all people in and around the waterfront at camp, as well as the upkeep and operations of the waterfront.
    Skills and Experience:
    ● Previous experience preferred.
    ● Problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
    ● An ability to assess and communicate information to lifeguard teams, campers, and parents.
    ● An ability to work effectively in a team context, contributing to the team process.
    ● Current Red Cross Lifeguard and Waterfront Skills Certifications.
    Specific Responsibilities for Lifeguard:
    ● Maintain safety of all people in and around the waterfront area.
    ● Remain alert and use all senses while guarding.
    ● Perform first aid and emergency care treatment when required.
    ● Work as a team with other lifeguards.
    ● Handle discipline situations with courtesy.
    ● Maintain cleanliness and organization of the waterfront area.
    ● Assign and delegate tasks to aquatic observers.
    ● Complete all necessary injury reports.
    ● Set up the waterfront area for specific activities according to the weekly program schedule.
    ● Weekly testing of swimming water; record results and report to supervisor.
    ● Communicate and enforce all Summer At TMI regulations for the waterfront in a professional manner.
    ● Assist maintenance staff in daily cleaning tasks when not at the waterfront.
    ● Attend all scheduled staff meetings.
    ● Perform other duties as assigned.
    Personal Qualities:
    ● A person with the ability to act calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
    ● A person with strong organization and communication skills.
    ● A person with strong interpersonal relationship skills, comfortable with feedback and challenge, as well as an ability to interact with diverse groups of people and effectively meet their needs.
    ● A person flexible and focused, capable of making necessary adjustments.
    This is a paid hourly full summer position.
    Employment dates are May 28-July 25, 2025. The expectation is to be available to work 12:30pm-5pm/Monday–Friday each week (up to 20-25 hours a week)
  • Summer Marksmanship Instructor

    Purpose: To plan and lead daily operations of the Summer at TMI Marksmanship Program. To further the mission of the camp through the development and delivery of marksmanship activities that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the campers’ age and abilities. Join us in making a difference in the lives of our campers by providing them with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed!
    Accountability: Summer Marksmanship Instructor is responsible to the Director of the Auxiliary Program and the
    Commandant/ Senior Army Instructor
    Responsibilities:
    ● Planning and leading the Marksmanship Camp Program in Summer at TMI. Creating weekly schedules and
    activities with assistance from Director of Auxiliary Program
    ● Expectations of involvement with your group each week:
    o Leadership and guidance of 8-16 campers rising 5th -9th graders
    o Help resolve camper issues as they arise
    o Implement rules and policies for campers
    o Supervise and assist campers in clean up each day
    o Be with campers at all times (unless on a break)
    o Attend staff meeting as assigned
    ● Interact with children, parents/guardians and co-workers in a professional manner at all times. Assist in as
    needed communication with campers’ parents and families as needed.
    ● Participate in the life of camp; assist where needed and directed by those in charge.
    ● Deliver instruction in a clear and effective manner, adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles.
    ● Supervise and lead any or all Panther Giveback Volunteer Counselors assigned to the Marksmanship Camp
    Program.
    ● Interpret and enforce safety and health regulations in the camp
    ● Management of the rifle range area and related equipment and supplies. Inventory of supplies. Order, purchase
    and pick up needed supplies within budget constraints and ONLY after approval.
    ● Foster a supportive classroom environment that encourages camper participation and collaboration.
    ● Other duties as needed, delegated by the Director of Auxiliary Program.
    Qualifications (Minimum qualifications and experience)
    ● Must have documented experience in marksmanship instruction and/ or documented training and experience
    through the Civilian Marksmanship Training Program or National Rifle Association.
    ● Must have experience and be able to show the ability to work with children in a classroom environment
    teaching, demonstrating, and facilitating marksmanship training. .
    ● Ability to engage campers through innovative teaching techniques and interactive learning experiences.
    ● Current certification in first aid and CPR. (Can get during Staff Development week)
    ● Must have a Range Safety Officer qualification and demonstrate knowledge of operating as a Range Safety
    Officer on a range with 6 shooting positions.
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    ● Training and experience in working/ teaching youth.
    ● Desire and ability to work with children outdoors in varied conditions.
    ● Have first hand knowledge and experience to be able to demonstrate the properly operate the Crosman
    Challenger Air Rifle. This includes being able to correct and fix minor air rifle malfunctions and ensure proper operation of the rifles in training.
    This is a paid full summer position. Employment date availability is 6 weeks during the following time frame (June 9 - July 25, 2025). The expectation is to be available to work 7:45am-5pm/Monday–Friday each week. Be available to participate in some of a 7-day Summer Staff Development: Week of May 28- June 6, 2025
